About This Scholarship

The purpose of the AMS Minority Scholarship is to support minority students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, especially Hispanic, Native American and African American students. Applicants must be minority students who will be entering their freshman year of college in the following fall and must plan to pursue degrees in the atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. Applicants must submit applications, transcripts, recommendation letters and SAT or equivalent scores. Original materials should be mailed to the closest AMS Local Chapter listed at the bottom of the application, and copies should be mailed to headquarters.

About This Scholarship

The purpose of the Curwen-Guidry-Blackburn Scholarship Fund is to aid any senior youth bowler in Southern Bowling Congress member states in their education. Students must be high school seniors and currently bowling in a USBC Certified Youth League. Students must reside in a Southern Bowling Congress member state which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. Applicants must have bowled in a USBC Certified Youth League three of four years in high school and have bowled 75 percent of the league schedule. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and achieved an ACT composite score of 20 or SAT composite score of 1410.
