About This Scholarship

The purpose of the Switzer Environmental Fellowship is to support graduate students who desire a career in environmental improvement. Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled in an accredited graduate institution in California, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Students must be enrolled full-time during the entire academic year of receiving the award. Master's degree and JD students must be pursuing their terminal degree. Applicants seeking their Ph.D. must have completed at least three years of doctoral work by July 1 or plan to successfully pass their qualifying exams by May 1 of the year before receiving the award. Selection is based on the strength of the overall application.
