👉 Please reference you found the scholarship on Scholarships That Work, this helps us get more scholarship providers to post here, thanks!

When applying for scholarships, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to provide sensitive personal information like your Social Security Number (SSN). If membership is required to apply, the membership should ALWAYS BE FREE. Basically, NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING. Those are scams! Some scholarships may ask for your address or proof of enrollment. That's fine, but always verify you're actually talking to the scholarship provider and not an imposter. Scams in scholarships are rampant, be careful! When clicking on the button to apply, you will leave Scholarships That Work and go to the application page for that organization outside this site. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Transgender First Scholarship?

The Transgender First Scholarship is a $2,500+ award for full-time students in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and more. Transgender students are often never able to access a college education due to disproportionate and significant disadvantages. Whether it’s biased difficulty in getting full-time employment to afford school, losing family and parental support after coming out, or lacking the ability to access student housing on campus, transgender students are at a disadvantage when it comes to affording the large costs associated with a college degree. In addition, almost no resources currently exist (whether Grants, Scholarships, etc) exclusively dedicated to serve their needs and interests nationwide. As with many in the LGBTQ community, this is tragic as many other groups are adequately represented. We’re going to change that. Amount: $2,500
