6 Conducting Scholarships (January 2026)

The purpose of the George A. Hall / Harold F. Mayfield Grant is to assist those who are conducting avian research. Applicants must be independent researchers without access to funds available at colleges, universities or government agencies and must be non-professionals currently conducting avian research. Applicants must also be willing to present their research results at an annual meeting of the Wilson Ornithological Society.

The purpose of the Julia L. Atz Scholarship is to support local students as they pursue advanced education. Applicants must be seniors (or entering their senior year in the fall) in college or post-graduate students pursuing a career in classical music performance or conducting, and with a college GPA of 3.00 or above.

The purpose of the Winterthur Research Fellowship Program is to support students interested in conducting material culture research. Applicants must be graduate students who have completed their Ph.D. or doctoral candidates conducting research or writing their dissertation. Areas of study include material culture studies, social and cultural history, art history. literary studies, American studies, design history, the decorative arts, landscape architecture and design, consumer culture, and conservation studies. Selection is based on the research project's suitability to Winterthur's collections and the strength of the overall application.

The purpose of the Thomas R. Camp Scholarship is to support students conducting applied research in the drinking water field. Applicants must pursue graduate degrees at an institution of higher education in Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, Mexico or the U.S. This is awarded to doctoral students in even years and master's students in odd years. Applicants must submit applications, resumes, transcripts, GRE scores, three recommendation letters, statements and research plans. The award is based on academics and leadership.

The purpose of the Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust Scholarship Fund of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation is to support students in Collin, Dallas and Denton counties. Applicants must be full-time graduate students conducting extensive research on special education for children and studying within the state of Texas. Students must be U.S. citizens or legal residents.

The purpose of the Scholar in Clinical Research is to support investigators conducting original, applied research in the area of hematological studies. Applicant must be a highly qualified investigator holding an independent faulty-level appointment who is conducting original, independently applied research, often involving early-stage clinical trials advancing the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of hematologic malignancies. It is expected applicant will have research funding in place from another source or agency.
