The purpose of the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Fund Grant is to support researchers and research doctoral students research projects of North American fauna in any phase of wildlife conservation or natural history. Applicants must be able to use the grant funding between July 1 and June 30 of the following year.

The purpose of the Joel Polsky Academic Achievement Award is to recognize an interior design student's project. Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students in interior design and should submit entry forms and projects such as research papers or doctoral and master’s theses that focus on interior design topics. The projects are judged on content, breadth of material, coverage of the topic, innovative subject matter, bibliography and references. The society may exhibit any entry for two years.

The purpose of the American Water Scholarship is to support graduate-level students interested in giving service to the water industry. Applicants must be graduate students working towards a masters or doctoral degree. Students must be planning a career related to the service of the water industry. Selection is based upon the overall strength of the application.

The purpose of the Academic Achievement Award is to recognize contributions to the field of public water supply. Master's theses and doctoral dissertations that are relevant to the water supply industry are eligible. Unbound manuscripts must be the work of a single author and be submitted during the competition year in which they were submitted for the degree. Students may major in any area as long as the research is directly related to the drinking water supply industry. In addition to the application, students must submit a one-page abstract of the manuscript and a letter of endorsement from the major professor or department chair. The doctoral dissertation awards are $3,000 and $1,500. The master's thesis awards are $3,000 and $1,500.

The purpose of the Adelle and Erwin Tomash Fellowship in the History of Information Processing is to support a graduate student who is researching the history of computing. Applicants must be graduate students who have completed all doctoral degree requirements except the research and writing of the dissertation. Students must submit a curriculum vitae and a five-page statement and justification of the research program. To be eligible, scholars will reside outside the Twin Cities metropolitan region.

The purpose of the American Library Association Century Scholarship is to support library students with disabilities. Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens with disabilities admitted to an ALA-accredited school studying for a master's or doctorate in library science. Students must provide medical documentation of their disability and services needed for their studies. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

The purpose of the NDSEG Fellowship Program is to award fellowships to those in science and engineering. Applicants must pursue a doctoral degree in an area of Department of Defense interest: aeronautical and astronautical engineering, biosciences, chemical engineering, chemistry, civil engineering, cognitive, neural and behavioral sciences, computer and computational sciences, electrical engineering, geosciences, materials science and engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering, naval architecture and ocean engineering, oceanography and physics. Applicants must have completed no more than one academic year of graduate study as a part-time or full-time student or be in their final year of undergraduate studies. The award is based on academic achievement, personal statements, recommendations and Graduate Record Examination scores. Fellowships may be used only at U.S. institutions of higher education offering doctoral degrees.

The purpose of the Predoctoral Fellowship Program is to support advanced graduate research in the history, theory and criticism of art, architecture and urbanism. Applicants for predoctoral fellowships must be nominated by the chair of the graduate department of art history or other appropriate departments. Applicants must have completed all departmental requirements, including course work, residency and general and preliminary examinations. Certification in two languages other than English is required. Applicants should submit nomination forms, supporting letters from two individuals and writing samples. There are various fellowships. The David E. Finley Fellowship requires applicants have a significant interest in curatorial work. The Paul Mellon Fellowship is for the completion of a doctoral dissertation in Western art. The Samuel H. Kress Fellowship is for the completion of a doctoral dissertation in European art on a topic before the early nineteenth century. The Wyeth Fellowship is for the completion of a doctoral dissertation that concerns aspects of art of the United States, including native and pre-Revolutionary America. The Ittleson Fellowship is for the completion of a doctoral dissertation in the visual arts in a field other than Western art. The Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship is for the completion of a doctoral dissertation in cross-cultural studies or in a field other than Western art through the twentieth century. The Robert H. and Clarice Smith Fellowship is for research on Northern European art between 1400 and 1700, intended for the advancement or completion of either a doctoral dissertation or a resulting publication. The Chester Dale Fellowships are for the advancement or completion of a doctoral dissertation in any area of Western art, with a preference for modern and contemporary topics. The Center offers a Paul Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship for recipients of the David E. Finley, Paul Mellon, Samuel H. Kress, Wyeth, Ittleson, Andrew W. Mellon and two-year Chester Dale fellowships if the dissertation has been accepted by June 1 of the residence year. Several candidates for each fellowship will be invited to Washington for interviews.

The purpose of the Byron Hanke Fellowship is to support graduate students who are working on topics related to community associations. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited master's, doctoral or law program in the U.S. or Canada. Students must submit a research paper on community associations. Selection is primarily based on demonstration of research and writing abilities, academic achievement and faculty recommendations.

The purpose of the Henry Belin du Pont Dissertation Fellowship is to provide four-month fellowships for doctoral students performing dissertation research. Applicants must be doctoral students who have completed all course work and are performing dissertation research. Research topics should involve historical questions and should relate to the collections in the Hagley Library. Fellows will receive housing, office space, a computer and Internet access. A presentation is required at the end of the residence period.

The purpose of the Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Advanced Studies is to support Japanese nationals pursuing a Ph.D. in macroeconomics and related fields. Applicants must be admitted to a school outside of Japan that has a strong doctoral program in macroeconomics and obtain a Ph.D. by age 34. This scholarship covers all reasonable expenses for two years of graduate study. Scholarship recipients must receive no other scholarships or earn income while receiving the scholarship. They are also expected to apply for employment with IMF upon completion of their degrees.

The purpose of the Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Child Psychology Graduate Student Fellowship is to support graduate research projects in child psychology. Applicants must have completed doctoral candidacy at the time of application. Students must demonstrate research competence and area commitment.

The purpose of the APF Queen-Nellie Evans Scholarship is to support minority graduate students who have a commitment to improving the conditions of marginalized communities. Applicants must be minority graduate students enrolled in an accredited master’s or doctoral program.

The purpose of the APF/COGDOP Graduate Student Scholarships is to assist graduate students of psychology with research costs associated with the master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation. Applicants must be graduate students enrolled in an interim master’s program or doctoral program. Students currently enrolled in a terminal master’s program must intend to enroll in a PhD program. Applicants at any stage of graduate study are encouraged to apply and must be enrolled in the graduate program at the time grants are awarded.

The purpose of the Pryor Fellowships is to assist alumni and graduate Alpha Chi members who are seeking doctoral, master's or first professional degrees. Applicants must be Alpha Chi members or alumni who are enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a doctoral, terminal master's or first professional degree program.

The purpose of the Sigma Small Grants is to encourage nurses to contribute to the advancement of nursing through research. Applicants must hold a current registered nurse license and hold a master's or doctoral degree. Students must complete a research application package and sign the research agreement. Preference is given to Sigma Theta Tau members, other qualifications being equal.

The purpose of the Diversity Fellowship Program is to promote diversity in political science. Applicants must be first or second-year graduate students enrolled in a political science doctoral program. Students must be a member of one of the following racial/ethnic groups: African American, Asian Pacific American, Latino or Native American. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or granted deferred action status at the time of application. Students must demonstrate an interest in teaching and research in political science.

The purpose of the George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy is to assist graduate students with a moderate to profound hearing loss. Applicants must attend or be accepted to attend full-time an accredited law school or a master's or doctoral program in public policy or public administration and must use spoken language as the primary mode of communication. Students must also have a pre-lingual and bilateral hearing loss. Applications are available online.

The purpose of the Graduate Student Scholarship is to support graduate students in communication sciences and disorders. Applicants must be full-time graduate students in U.S. communication sciences and disorders programs. Master's degree candidates must be in programs accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation for Audiology and Speech Pathology, but doctoral programs do not have to be accredited. Transcripts, an essay, a reference form and a statement of good standing are required.

The purpose of the ILA Jeanne S. Chall Research Fellowship is to support dissertation research in reading. Applicants must be doctoral students planning or beginning their dissertation on one of the following topics in the field of reading: beginning reading, readability, reading difficulty, stages of reading development, the relation of vocabulary to reading and diagnosing and teaching adults with limited reading ability. Applicants must also be members of the International Literacy Association.

The purpose of the Power Life Sciences Scholarship is to support talented students who are passionate about biomedical and biopharmaceutical innovation. Applicants must be high school, undergraduate, masters or doctoral students enrolled in a U.S. based high school, college or university or undergraduate, masters or doctoral students who are 18 years of age or older enrolled in a non-U.S. based college or university. Students must be able to critically analyze real clinical trial data.

The purpose of the Hilla Rebay International Fellowship is to reward students with a practical museum training experience. Applicants must have a MA/MPhil in art history or related academic fields. Doctoral candidates or recent PhD graduates are encouraged and welcomed to apply. Applicants be fluent (speaking and writing) in English, Spanish, and Italian.

The purpose of the NATA Scholarship is to encourage study among athletic trainers. Applicants must be at least a junior in college and scholarships are available for undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. Students must have a minimum 3.2 GPA and be sponsored by a certified athletic trainer and be a member of the NATA. There is an earlier deadline to start the application online.

The purpose of the Minority Student Scholarship is to support a minority graduate student in communication sciences and disorders. Applicants should be full-time minority graduate students. Master's degree candidates must be in programs accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation for Audiology and Speech Pathology, but doctoral programs do not have to be accredited. Transcripts, an essay and a reference form are required.

The purpose of the Salvatore J. Natoli Dissertation Award in Geographic Education is to recognize outstanding doctoral research. This award is not restricted to dissertations in geography. Applicants must have received the doctoral degree within the previous two years and are expected to present their research at the annual meeting. Applicants must submit papers drawn from the dissertation, plus abstracts; cover letters that state the title of the dissertation, date of the degree, major professor's name and institution and applicant's social security number; verification letters from the major professors and applications for program participation for the NCGE Annual Meeting. The meeting registration fee will be refunded to finalists and winners after the meeting.
