20 Scholarships for Vietnamese Students (November 2023)

The purpose of the Smith Diversity Scholarship is to support graduating high school seniors from low-income, minority families who are residents of Nebraska. Applicants must be a resident of Nebraska at time of graduation. Students must show financial need. Preference will be given to applicants from disadvantaged ethnic backgrounds that do not identify as caucasian.

The purpose of the Vietnamese Physician Association of Northern California Scholarship is to reward outstanding Californian Vietnamese high school seniors. Applicants must be high school seniors of Vietnamese descent currently living in Northern California enrolling in an accredited post-secondary institution. Students must have a GPA of 3.6 or better and submit their transcript, ACT/SAT scores, letters of recommendation and financial statements along with their application.

The purpose of the LAGRANT Scholarship Program is to support minority students who are seeking degrees in advertising, graphic design, marketing or public relations. Applicants must be African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino or Native American/Alaskan Native. Students must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, AB-540 students or DACA recipients. Applicants must be full-time students at an accredited four-year institution in the U.S. A minimum 3.0 GPA or higher is required. Students must submit an essay with their application.

The purpose of the Diversity Fellowship Program is to promote diversity in political science. Applicants must be first or second-year graduate students enrolled in a political science doctoral program. Students must be a member of one of the following racial/ethnic groups: African American, Asian Pacific American, Latino or Native American. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or granted deferred action status at the time of application. Students must demonstrate an interest in teaching and research in political science.

The purpose of the Asian American / Pacific Islander Scholarship is to encourage Asian American or Pacific Islander students. Applicants must be current undergraduates or high school seniors who are Asian Americans or Pacific Islanders. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents.

The purpose of the Against The Grain Artistic Scholarship is to support Asian American students pursuing degrees in visual or performing arts. Applicants must be at least 25 percent Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity and citizens or national or legal permanent residents of the U.S. Students must be high school seniors or current college students enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. vocational, community or four-year college or university. Applicants must be pursuing majors in visual or performing arts and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students must demonstrate leadership abilities through community service, extracurricular or other activities.

The purpose of the OCA/UPS Gold Mountain Scholarship is to support first generation Asian American students. Applicants must be Asian Pacific Americans who intend to begin college in the fall of the year of application and must demonstrate significant financial need. Applicants must also be the first in their family to attend college and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

The purpose of the Vincent Chin Scholarship is to support college students interested in pursuing careers in journalism. Applicants must be undergraduate students enrolled full-time and must be currently taking or planning to take journalism courses and/or pursuing a career in journalism. Applicants are not required to be Asian Americans but must support the mission of the AAJA and be committed to work within the community. Selection is based on the applicant's promise to support the field of journalism and issues faced by Pacific Islanders and Asian Americans. In addition, selection is based on financial need, academic achievement and demonstrated ability in journalism as well as the applicant's resume, two letters of recommendation, essay and work samples.
