About This Scholarship

The purpose of the Walter Byers Graduate Scholarship is to encourage academic excellence of student athletes by recognizing outstanding academic achievement and success in postgraduate studies. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher in their undergraduate work and have competed in intercollegiate athletics at a NCAA member institution as a member of a varsity team. Applicants should be a graduating senior or be enrolled in graduate studies. If not already in a graduate program, the applicant should have the intent of pursuing a graduate degree within five years at a properly accredited, nonprofit educational institution.
