4 Cosmetology Scholarships (January 2026)

The purpose of the Great Scholarship Program is to support students who are pursuing a career in cosmetology. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

The purpose of the Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Program is to provide barber and cosmetology students with financial aid. Applicants must be sponsored by one of the following: a fully accredited, recognized barber or cosmetology school, a licensed salon owner or manager, a full-service distributor or a member of the International Chain Association, Beauty and Barber Supply Institute, Cosmetology Advancement Foundation or National Cosmetology Association. Applicants must be actively enrolled in cosmetology school or planning to enroll during or after the award month of August. Judging is based on financial need, motivation and character.

The purpose of the Beauty Schools Marketing Group $2,500 Cosmetology Scholarship is to support students who plan to pursue an education in cosmetology or related fields. Applicants must be U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older and must not reside in New York, Florida or Rhode Island. Students must enroll in an approved institution of their choice within one year of receiving the scholarship and must maintain enrollment throughout the entire term of the program. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

The purpose of the Irene Bovender Wade Hunley Memorial Scholarship is to support New Castle students pursuing a higher education who have interests similar to the late Irene Bovender Wade Hunley. Applicants must be graduating seniors of New Castle High School who lack financial resources to further their education. Special consideration is given to the following students: those pursuing a beauty/cosmetology certificate, those studying piano or dance based on prior history with piano or dance, members of the First Baptist Church in New Castle, those who have worked part-time at a hospital or assisted living home while in high school, those students who were on the swim team all four years of high school or those with a family member who is serving or has served in the military.
