8 Environmental Science Scholarships (January 2026)

The purpose of the Delaware Solid Waste Authority John P. Pat Healy Scholarship is to aid Delaware students who are preparing for careers in environmental engineering or environmental science. Applicants must be Delaware residents, U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens and full-time students. They must be high school seniors, undergraduate freshmen or undergraduate sophomores majoring in or planning to major in environmental sciences or environmental engineering at a Delaware college or university. They also must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form for the upcoming school year. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership skills, extracurricular involvement and financial need.

The purpose of the Ted Brickley/Bernice Shickora Scholarship is to aid New Jersey students who are majoring in industrial hygiene, occupational safety, environmental science or a related subject. Applicants must be New Jersey residents who are enrolled at an accredited New Jersey college or university and must be graduate students or rising undergraduate juniors or seniors. They must be majoring in industrial hygiene, occupational safety, environmental science or a related subject and must be involved in extracurricular activities pertaining to occupational safety. They must have a major GPA of 2.5 or higher on a four-point scale. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

The purpose of the A. Joe Hemphill, Jr. Scholarship is to assist students in the Western North Carolina area. Applicants must be graduating public high school seniors of Western North Carolina's Charles D. Owen High School, Madison High School, or McDowell High School. Students must be planning to attend a college or university in North Carolina or Tennessee, and intend to study forestry management or environmental science.

The purpose of the Blades of Green Scholarship Fund is to reward students seeking a degree in environmental related fields. Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate level students attending an institution of higher learning full-time and must be pursuing a degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental studies, plant sciences, botany, green technology or a related field. Applicants will need to submit a 350-500 word letter of intent describing desired career plans after graduation and what inspired you to pursue this career path.

The purpose of the Yinghsia Shih Li Memorial Scholarship is to encourage California students planning to pursue post-secondary degrees in science. Applicants must be graduating female seniors attending high school in the Lucia Mar Unified School District. Students must be planning to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree in science including the following: agricultural science, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, environmental science, mathematics or physics. Financial need must be demonstrated by applicants.

The purpose of the Katie Hemauer Memorial Scholarship is to assist students in the Fox Valley Region. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from Stockbridge and Chilton High Schools who intend to pursue a science degree from an accredited two- or four-year college or university, including environmental science, biology, chemistry, physics or human or animal science.

The purpose of the Derflinger Earth Sciences Scholarship Fund is to support students from Eastern West Virginia. Applicants must be graduating seniors from a Berkeley, Jefferson or Morgan County high school who plans to attend a West Virginia public college or university and pursue a degree in either agriculture, forestry, geology, archeology or environmental science. Students must have a 2.0 GPA and have need of financial aid.

The purpose of the J.R. Popalisky Scholarship is to aid Missouri students whose coursework is related to the water supply industry. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are enrolled at an accredited college or university located in Missouri. They must have completed coursework in subjects relating to the water supply industry (such as environmental engineering, civil engineering or environmental science). Students who are receiving funding from an employer are ineligible. Selection is based on coursework relevance, GPA, financial need, recommendations, personal essay and extracurricular activities.
