5 Food Science Scholarships (January 2026)

The purpose of the Graduate Scholarships is to reward graduate students researching food science or technology. Applicants should be graduate students pursuing an M.S. and/or Ph.D. at the time the fellowship becomes effective and should research an area of food science or technology. Applications, transcripts and three recommendation letters are required.

The purpose of the Phyllis V. Roberts Scholarship is to support undergraduate and graduate students in the field of food and nutritional sciences. Applicants must be Virginia residents and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students will need to submit a short essay explaining why they have chosen a degree in food science/nutritional science. Applicants should have a goal of helping to address food insecurity in our communities.

The purpose of the Undergraduate Scholarships is to encourage undergraduate students in food science or technology. Applicants must be college sophomores, juniors or seniors pursuing an approved program in food science or food technology. An application, a transcript and a recommendation letter are required.

The purpose of the AACT National Candy Technologists John Kitt Memorial Scholarship Program is to aid students with a demonstrated interested in confectionery technology. Applicants must be rising college sophomores, juniors or seniors at an accredited four-year college or university in North America. They must major in food science, chemical science, biological science or a related area. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.

The purpose of the E.H. Marth Food Protection and Food Science Scholarship is to support students who are preparing for careers that are related to food or environmental sanitation. Applicants must be Wisconsin residents who are enrolled at or have been accepted into a postsecondary institution that is either located in the state of Wisconsin or that has a reciprocal enrollment agreement with Wisconsin. They must be or plan to be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate academic program that is related to food science, environmental sanitation or dairy science. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.
