4 Italian Scholarships (January 2026)

The purpose of the Hilla Rebay International Fellowship is to reward students with a practical museum training experience. Applicants must have a MA/MPhil in art history or related academic fields. Doctoral candidates or recent PhD graduates are encouraged and welcomed to apply. Applicants be fluent (speaking and writing) in English, Spanish, and Italian.

The purpose of the Babbel Language Scholarship is to support students pursuing an undergraduate language degree. Applicants must be students currently enrolled in a two- or four-year college program and are either actively studying or planning to study a Babbel language (Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Turkish and Indonesian) at a college level. An essay submission on a provided prompt is required.

The institution is devoted to allowing advanced graduate students enrolled in North American colleges and institutions to study the classics and related fields of language, literature, art, history, archaeology and philosophy of Greece and the Greek world. Applicants must have completed at least one to two years of graduate study and must take exams in ancient Greek language, history and either literature or art and archaeology. Students must be able to read French, German, ancient Greek and Latin with an ability to also read modern Greek and Italian considered helpful. Applicants must be graduate students who are preparing for an advanced degree in classical and ancient Mediterranean studies or a related field. The fellowships provide study in Athens or Greece for nine months and may not be used for costs at the student's home institution.

The purpose of the National Italian American Foundation Scholarship is to support Italian American students. Applicants must be Italian American students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and must either be a member or child of a member. Applicants must also plan to be or currently be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education, have a minimum 3.5 GPA and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
