4 Photography Scholarships (December 2025)

The purpose of the Quill and Scroll Student Scholarships is to aid high school journalists seeking to improve their skills and techniques. Applicants must be Quill and Scroll members or national winners of the Yearbook Excellence Contest or the International Writing, Photography and Multimedia Contest or Blogging Competition.

The purpose of the AIGA Worldstudio Scholarships is to support art and design students who need financial assistance. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students in fine arts, graphic design, illustration, interactive design or photography. They must have a GPA of at least 2.0 and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Minority and economically disadvantaged students will be given special consideration.

The purpose of the Rising Bud Scholarship is to support female high school seniors pursuing a degree in an art field. Applicants must be female high-school seniors pursuing an undergraduate degree in art at a college or university in one of the following areas: applied arts (creative literature/writing, decorative art, design, fashion design, fine arts, graphic design or industrial design), cinematic arts (animation, audio/sound or film-making), performing arts (dance, music, step or theater) or visual arts (animation, architecture, audio/sound, ceramics, computer art, crafts, design, drawing, film-making, illustration, painting, photography, printmaking, video or visual communications). Students must be from a low income household earning a combined income that is less than $45,000 a year. A personal statement on a provided topic is required to be submitted.

The purpose of the John B. Jones Memorial Scholarship is to assist students in the Pittsburgh area. Applicants must attend Mt. Lebanon High School as graduating seniors or be past graduates and pursue a degree or studies in photography, journalism, political science, or related fields. Students must have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 if applying as a high school senior or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 otherwise and plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university either full or half-time to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree.
