9 Scholarships in Hancock County, IN (December 2025)

The purpose of the Nancy Terrell Miller Scholarship is to support Indiana students who have demonstrated involvement in community sharing and service. Applicants must be graduating from the Mt. Vernon High School in Indiana. Students must have a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must provide details of their involvement in their community via Hancock County 4-H, Red Cross, service to the elderly and/or McCordsville Fire Department. Students must summarize why they are a good candidate for this scholarship.

The purpose of the Dr. Brian and Charlotte Kirkwood Scholarship is to support Hancock County students who have demonstrated leadership and service Applicants must be graduating from or be a past graduate of Eastern Hancock High School and reside in Hancock County, Indiana. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.2 and plan to pursue a bachelor's degree. Applicants must have participated in at least two seasons of a sport and two years of a school club. Students must have been involved in community-service related activities and demonstrate traits of leadership and caring for others.

The purpose of the Maxwell United Methodist Memorial Scholarship of Hancock County is to assist Hancock County students who are active members of a United Methodist church to pursue post-secondary education Applicants must reside in Hancock County, Indiana. Students must be active members of a United Methodist church throughout school and/or adulthood. Applicants most have at least a 2.95 grade point average and plan to pursue either a two-year or four-year degree.

The purpose of the Walter P. and Virginia Worland Scholarship is to support Hancock County students seeking an education in a trade or technical program Applicants must be graduating from a Hancock County, Indiana public high school with a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Students must seek an education credential in either a trade or technical program. Applicants must provide a list of classes taken in their chosen field, an explanation of how the classes impacted the student's desire for education, a summary of their leadership qualities and reasons why they are a good candidate for the award. Students must provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher.

The purpose of the Judy D. Smith Memorial Scholarship is to support Indiana students pursuing a degree in elementary education Applicants must be graduating from Mt. Vernon High School and reside in Hancock County, Indiana. Students must rank academically in the top one-third of their class. Applicants must pursue a degree in elementary education. Students must provide a description of their involvement in the community.

The purpose of the Mike Johnson Memorial Scholarship is to support Indiana graduates involved with student council Applicants must be graduating from Mt. Vernon High School and reside in Hancock County, Indiana. Students must be members of the student council. Applicants need to be academically ranked in the top one-third of their class but not within the top ten. Students must provide details of their student council or student staff involvement.

The purpose of the Christine Dowling Scholarship is to support graduating Greenfield-Central High School students who seek further education despite struggling with health issues Applicants must be a graduating senior from Greenfield-Central High School in Indiana and a current resident of Hancock County. Students must have attended St. Michael's Catholic School and are required to provide documentation of such. Applicants must plan on majoring in education.

The purpose of the Jim Andrews Scholarship is to support college-bound students who reside in Hancock County (Indiana). Applicants must have graduated from high school or be a graduating senior, have been or are members of the Boys and Girls Club of Hancock County and plan to attend college. Selection is based on but not limited to life struggles, career aims (elementary education, organizational leadership, criminal justice, social work or youth ministry) and financial need.

The purpose of the Dr. Reinhard and Marlise Bubenzer Rotary Scholarship is to assist graduating Hancock County public high school students pursue further education Applicants must be a graduating senior of a Hancock County, Indiana public high school and a resident of Hancock County. In addition to school transcripts, students must include an essay, two letters of recommendation and a senior portrait.
