4 Scholarships in Westmoreland County, PA (December 2025)

The purpose of the Dorothy and Richard Barr Westmoreland County High School Scholarship Fund is to assist students in the Pittsburgh area. Applicants must attend high school as a graduating senior in Belle Vernon High School, Burrell High School, Derry Area High School, Franklin Regional High School, Greater Latrobe High School, Greensburg Salem High School, Hempfield Area High School, Jeannette City High School, Kiski Area High School, Ligonier Valley High School, Monessen City High School, Mount Pleasant Area High School, New Kensington-Arnold High School, Norwin High School, Penn-Trafford High School, Southermoreland High School or Yough High School. Students must reside in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and have a minimum GPA of 3.5.

The purpose of the Economic Opportunity Scholarship in Trade and Apprenticeship is to assist students in the Pittsburgh area. Applicants must attend or plan to attend an accredited vocational or technical trade school OR 2- year college for a terminal degree in Pennsylvania and reside in Allegheny County, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington, Westmoreland or Fayette County. Students must pursue a degree or studies in traditional or modern trade and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be between the ages of 18 and 25.

The purpose of the Edward J. Ferri Memorial Scholarship Fund is to assist students in the Pittsburgh area. Applicants must attend high school as graduating seniors and reside in Westmoreland County or Allegheny County. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and plan to attend an accredited vocational or technical trade school or 2-or 4-year college or university. Applicants must be an employee or child of an employee of Ferri Enterprises and preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need or a commitment to volunteerism.

The purpose of the Oliver L. Johnson and William A. Lester Families Fund is to assist students in the Pittsburgh area. Applicants must attend high school in Allegheny County, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Washington, or Westmoreland Counties as graduating seniors and demonstrate financial need. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and plan to attend an accredited vocational or technical trade school or two- or four-year colleges or universities and preference will be given to black African students born in Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal-Gambia, Zaire, Kenya or Cameroon, or African American students.
