9 Theatre Scholarships (April 2026)

The purpose of the T. Scott Eaton Scholarship Fund is to support Virginia students interested in pursuing a post-secondary degree in theatre or fine arts. Applicants must be residents of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery or Pulaski county or the city of Radford. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and submit a FAFSA demonstrating financial need to be considered.

The purpose of the Iowa Thespian Chapter Board Senior Scholarships is to aid promising young thespians. Applicants must be Iowa high school seniors and have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in arts-related classes. Students must be members of the International Thespian Society in good standing. Applicants must plan to major or minor in theatre, film, radio and television, broadcasting, music or dance. Applicants must also perform an audition at the Iowa Thespian Festival in the performance, technical or theatre educator category.

The purpose of the Cathy S. Knopp Theatrical Scholarship Fund is to support local students as they pursue advanced education. Applicants must be Applicants must be Central Noble High School seniors who will be a member of the Central Noble Honors Theatre by the end of the first semester of their senior year pursuing a two- or four-year post-high school education. Students must write and submit an essay.

The purpose of the Colorado State Thespians Scholarships is to help students who participate in theatre. Applicants must be high school seniors, have a minimum 2.75 GPA, plan to attend one of 30 participating universities, colleges or conservatories from across the nation and major in theatre. Students must perform an audition in acting, musical theatre or dance or prepare a portfolio of their expertise in technical theatre to present on the designated audition day in Denver, Colorado. Admission and additional scholarships may be offered by the colleges based on the audition.

The purpose of the Ginger Siegel Kottwitz Theatre Arts Scholarship Fund of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation is to support students in Collin, Dallas and Denton counties. Applicants must be full-time Jewish undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in theatre or musical theatre at either a four-year university or The Juilliard School. Students must be U.S. citizens or legal residents. Applicants must be from Collin, Dallas or Denton Counties.

The purpose of the Georgia Thespians Achievement Scholarships is to support outstanding thespians. Applicants must be Georgia high school juniors or seniors and perform an audition in one of the following categories: acting, technical theatre, singing or theatre education.

The purpose of the Davis B. and Barbara J. Francis Scholarship Fund is to assist students in the Western Virginia area. Applicants must be graduating seniors from a high school located in the Roanoke Valley who plan to pursue a degree in technical theatre or performing arts. Students must enroll in an accredited college or university or career/technical school. Applicants must have made significant contributions to the theatre arts program at their school.

The purpose of the Christine Schaefer Theatre Scholarship is to assist alumni of KidsPlay, Inc or Crazy Lake Act Teen Workshop pursuing post-secondary education in the theatre field. Applicants must be graduating high school or home-school seniors with a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Students must have a minimum of two years participation in either the Crazy Lake Act Teen Workshop or KidsPlay, Inc. Applicants must plan to earn a major or minor in a theatre related field. Students must provide an essay describing the impact of theatre on their life and a letter of recommendation verifying their activity.

The purpose of the Talia Joy Smith Performing Arts Scholarship Fund is to support local students as they pursue advanced education. Applicants must be East Noble High School seniors or previous ENHS graduates pursuing a four-year degree majoring in the performing arts in either vocal performance or musical theatre, or pursuing a four-year degree majoring in music education in the fall. Students must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.00 scale.
