5 Korean Scholarships (December 2025)

The purpose of the New York Legion Auxiliary District Scholarships is to provide financial assistance to children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of war veterans. Applicants must be children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Armed Forces veterans of World War I, World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War, Grenada/Lebanon, Panama, the Persian Gulf or War on Terrorism. Students must be high school seniors and must be U.S. citizens and New York State residents.

The purpose of the Mary Ann K. Murtha Memorial Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students whose parents, grandparents or great-grandparents served in the Armed Forces during wartime. Applicants must be children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Armed Forces veterans who served during World War I, World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War, Grenada/Lebanon, Panama, the Persian Gulf and War on Terrorism. Students must be high school seniors, U.S. citizens and New York State residents.

The purpose of the Raymond T. Wellington, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students who are children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of war veterans. Applicants must be children, grandchildren or great grand-children of Armed Forces veterans who served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam War, Grenada/Lebanon, Panama, the Persian Gulf or War on Terrorism. Students must be high school seniors or high school graduates and must be U.S. citizens and New York State residents.

The purpose of the NYS Regents Awards for Children of Deceased and Disabled Veterans is to assist students whose parents served in the Armed Forces during times of war or national emergency. Applicants must have a parent who served in the United States Armed Forces during Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, Vietnam or Korean Conflicts or World War II. The parent must be or have been a resident of New York State and have died or suffered a disability of 40 percent or more as a result of service, been classified as missing in action or been a prisoner of war. Students with a parent who has received the expeditionary medal for participation in operations in Lebanon, Grenada or Panama and students born with spina bifida whose parent is a Vietnam Veteran are also eligible.
