6 Scholarships for Middle Eastern Students (January 2026)

The purpose of the NYS Regents Awards for Children of Deceased and Disabled Veterans is to assist students whose parents served in the Armed Forces during times of war or national emergency. Applicants must have a parent who served in the United States Armed Forces during Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, Vietnam or Korean Conflicts or World War II. The parent must be or have been a resident of New York State and have died or suffered a disability of 40 percent or more as a result of service, been classified as missing in action or been a prisoner of war. Students with a parent who has received the expeditionary medal for participation in operations in Lebanon, Grenada or Panama and students born with spina bifida whose parent is a Vietnam Veteran are also eligible.

The purpose of the Spectrum Scholarship is to promote diversity in the field of library sciences. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or Canada who are attending an ALA-accredited graduate program in library sciences or an AASL-recognized school library media program. Students must identify as American Indian, Alaska Native, Asian, African American, Hispanic/Latino, Middle Eastern/North African or Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. Applicants must maintain a minimum course load of two classes per semester.

The purpose of the Delton Sportsmen's Club Scholarship is to support Wisconsin students interested in the field of natural resources. Applicants must be graduating from Baraboo, Reedsburg or Wisconsin Dells high schools with a grade point average of at least 3.0. Students must plan to pursue an education in natural resources or related field. Applicants must submit the scholarship application and an essay outlining their educational plan. Recipient must submit college transcript and proof of further enrollment after completion of the first sememster.

The purpose of the Howard D. Colman Scholarship is to assist students in the Northern Illinois area. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors, residing in Boone or Winnebago County with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students must major in engineering, computer science, applied science, or a comparable technology field.

The purpose of the Mary Thurmaier Foreign Language Scholarship is to support students in Wisconsin interested in studying foreign language. Applicants must be graduating seniors of Stevens Point Area Senior High who have studied at least four years of one foreign language while in middle school and/or high school and have a minimum GPA of 3.3. Special consideration may be given to students who are interested in Chinese or Arabic. Selection is based on the strength of the overall application.

The purpose of the Veterans Tuition Awards is to assist veterans in obtaining higher education. Applicants must be veterans from New York State who have been honorably discharged and served in Indochina between December 22, 1961 and May 7, 1975, the Persian Gulf on or after August 2, 1990 or Afghanistan on or after September 11, 2001. Applicants must also have applied for the Tuition Assistant Program if studying full-time and the Federal Pell Grant whether studying full-time or part-time, unless enrolled in a vocational training program.
