The purpose of the EngineerGirl Essay Contest is to support engineering-minded elementary, middle and high school students. Applicants must be a student in the third through twelfth grades who submit an essay positing how engineering might positively impact a vulnerable species' life. One submission only; also, employees or those related to or living with employees of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine are prohibited from applying, as are prior winners who wish to reapply within the same category.
