When applying for scholarships, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to provide sensitive personal information like your Social Security Number (SSN). If membership is required to apply, the membership should ALWAYS BE FREE. Basically, NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING. Those are scams! Some scholarships may ask for your address or proof of enrollment. That's fine, but always verify you're actually talking to the scholarship provider and not an imposter. Scams in scholarships are rampant, be careful! When clicking on the button to apply, you will leave Scholarships That Work and go to the application page for that organization outside this site. The Judge Russell DeBow Scholarship is a $2,000+ and renewable award in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and more. Judge Russell DeBow was one of the charter members of ISUBCA and was instrumental in writing the original constitution and by-laws in 1994. Annual donations from alumni and friends of ISUBCA fund this $2,000 scholarship each year. Applying for this scholarship allows consideration for the Office of the President Scholarship and the Vice President for Student Affairs Scholarship. Office of the President Scholarship - This $1,000 scholarship is sponsored by Illinois State’s President Dr. Larry Dietz and has been awarded every year since 2000. Vice President for Student Affairs Scholarship - This $1,000 scholarship is sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and has been awarded since 2008. In addition, alumni who contribute to ISUBCA made it possible for the scholarship to be increased by $1,000.
