About This Scholarship

The purpose of the Tech High School Alumni Association/W.O. Cheney Merit Scholarship is to aid future college students who are planning to major in engineering, mathematics or one of the physical sciences. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Georgia residents and high school seniors who have been accepted at an accredited four-year postsecondary institution. They must be planning to major in mathematics, one of the physical sciences or engineering and must be full-time students who have a proven interest in community service. They must have an SAT composite (math and critical reading) score of 1300 or higher and must either be in the top 10 percent of their class or have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.
