👉 Please reference you found the scholarship on Scholarships That Work, this helps us get more scholarship providers to post here, thanks!

When applying for scholarships, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to provide sensitive personal information like your Social Security Number (SSN). If membership is required to apply, the membership should ALWAYS BE FREE. Basically, NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING. Those are scams! Some scholarships may ask for your address or proof of enrollment. That's fine, but always verify you're actually talking to the scholarship provider and not an imposter. Scams in scholarships are rampant, be careful! When clicking on the button to apply, you will leave Scholarships That Work and go to the application page for that organization outside this site. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Gamecock Grant Scholarship?

The Gamecock Grant Scholarship is a $1,000+, merit-based, and renewable award for full-time students in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and more. First-Time Freshmen will be considered automatically for merit scholarships upon admission to JSU. Scholarships are awarded based on the highest high school GPA and composite test score (ACT/SAT) JSU's Office of Admissions has on file. Due to the disruptions in ACT/SAT testing across our region, the deadline for all test score updates for merit awards has been extended from May 1, 2020 to August 1, 2020. Merit scholarships cannot stack on one another; this includes the Leadership Scholarship and JSU Honors Scholarship. Out-of-state students receiving a merit-based scholarship or grant will qualify to pay their remaining tuition balance at the in-state rate. If you've been accepted to JSU but do not qualify for any of the merit-based scholarships like Gamecock Prestige, Gamecock Excellence, Gamecock Tradition, Gamecock Pride or Gamecock Spirit you may still qualify for the Gamecock Grant. Out-of-state students receiving a merit-based scholarship or grant will qualify to pay their remaining tuition balance at the in-state rate. Please note that some forms of institutional grants, including the Gamecock Grant, may not apply to students receiving athletic aid.
