The purpose of the National Peace Essay Contest is to expand educational opportunities for young Americans. Applicants must be in grades 9 through 12 in the U.S. Home-schooled students or students who are U.S. citizens attending high schools overseas are eligible. Applicants need the sponsorship of any school, school club, youth group, community group or religious organization. Selection is based on the quality of the research, analysis, form, style and mechanics of the essay.
