About This Scholarship

The purpose of the Reuben Trane Scholarship is to support engineering undergraduates who are preparing for careers in the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry. Applicants must be attending a school that houses a student branch of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), is ABET-accredited (U.S. institutions) or is ABET-affiliated (international institutions). Applicants must be undergraduate students who are enrolled in an engineering or pre-engineering curriculum that provides adequate preparation for a career in the HVACR industry. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a four-point scale or must be in the top 30 percent of their class. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.
