The Teach First Scholarship is a $1,000+ and renewable award for full-time students in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and more. The Teach First Program provides mentoring, networking and experiences for first-generation college students pursuing a degree in education. (First-generation students make up 40% of our student body. For this scholarship, “first-generation” is defined as neither parent having earned a bachelor’s degree.) Students involved in the Teach First Program receive a Teach First Scholarship of $1,000 during each year of their active participation in the program as students at North Central College, and they will gain experiences and professional relationships that will last throughout their teaching career. These experiences include hands-on teaching opportunities, mentoring from alumni mentors, and professional development throughout their four years. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of children through teacher education and are a first-generation college student, then please consider being a part of Teach First. Participation is required. Must be a full-time student in order to be eligible for this scholarship.
