7 Teacher Education Scholarships (January 2026)

The purpose of the Sister Mary Petronia Van Straten Scholarship for Pre-Service Teachers is to aid Wisconsin teacher education students. Applicants must be Wisconsin legal residents, be enrolled in a teacher education program and have completed or be in the process of completing a course in mathematics teaching methods. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

The purpose of the International Teacher Education Scholarship Program is to assist international women teachers-in-training to complete their final year of training in the U.S. Applicants must be single women with no dependents, between 20 and 35 years of age. Eligibility is restricted to non-U.S. citizens living outside the U.S. Applicants must have received an undergraduate degree and be eligible to receive a master's degree. However, the program is not intended for doctoral students. Students must intend to enter the field of teaching or be engaged in the teaching profession.

The purpose of the SPS Future Teacher Scholarship is to provide scholarships to physics majors who are participating in a teacher education program and who intend to pursue a career in physics education. Applicants must be members of SPS and intend to pursue a career in teaching physics. Students must be undergraduate physics majors at least in their junior year of study at the time of application.

The purpose of the Arthur Schroeder Teacher Education Scholarship is to assist students in the Greater Kansas City area. Applicants must be graduates from North Kansas City High School planning to pursue an education with the goal of becoming a teacher.

The purpose of the Central High School Scholarship for Teacher Education is to support graduates of Davenport Central High School who plan to enroll in an education program. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.0. Those who are interested in teaching Physical Education will be given preference.

The purpose of the Languages in Teacher Education Scholarships is to support students in Alberta interested in pursuing language education. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Alberta residents who are enrolled full-time in the last two years of a post-secondary Alberta teacher preparation program offered by an Alberta Faculty of Education. Students must intend to be a language teacher in Alberta schools following graduation. Selection is based on the strength of the overall application.

The purpose of the Evelyn Rutrough Memorial Scholarship is to support Floyd County high school students (Virginia) who wish pursue an undergraduate degree in nursing or teacher education. Applicants must provide documentation that confirms financial need, maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 and provide evidence of their having strength of character.
