The Frank LeBeau Education Scholarship is a $1,000+, merit-based, and essay-based award for full-time students in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and more. Bryan J. Taylor, North Central College Class of 2013, created the Frank LeBeau Education Scholarship in order to help those who have an earnest passion for education. This scholarship was established to honor Bryan Taylor’s uncle, Frank LeBeau, who Influenced him profoundly and who pushed Bryan to not only do his best, but also to find something that he loves to do. The purpose of this scholarship is to inspire and to financially assist an education student to fulfill his/her dreams of becoming a teacher. Eligibility Criteria: Applicant must be full-time Applicant must have sophomore, junior, or senior academic standing as of Fall 2021 Semester Applicant must have a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher First preference will go to secondary education majors Second preference will go to a current participant in the Junior/Senior Scholars Program at North Central An essay and resumé are required Supplemental Questions As a Continuing Student (currently attending North Central College), what will be your academic standing or classification at the start of the Fall 2021 Semester? Is your current cumulative GPA equal to or greater than 3.2? Are you hoping to become a teacher? If you are selected as a recipient of this scholarship, will you be FULL-TIME (12-18 credit hours per semester) for the 2021-22 academic year? Are you a secondary education major? (For this scholarship, preference is given to secondary education majors; however, if you are not a secondary education major you are still eligible to apply.) Are you participating in the Junior/Senior Scholars Program at North Central College? (For this scholarship, a secondary preference is given to a current participant of the Junior/Senior Scholars Program; however, you are still eligible to apply if you do not participate in this program.) One letter of recommendation from a professor in the Education Department or within a candidate's discipline is required. Please enter the full name and email address for the person you would like to request this recommendation. Please attach an updated resumé to your application. (File must be readable; PDF format is preferred.) A 500-word essay is required for this application. Please answer the question, "What do you want your educational legacy to be?"
